Ion Torrent Personal Genome Machine (PGM) is a sequencer that enables researchers to conduct reasonable investigations, ensuring short-term DNA sequencing. Apart from other synthesis-based technologies, Ion Torrent does not require chemically modified nucleotides, lasers and optical detectors, thus enabling the PGM system to attain unsurpassed coverage uniformity, practically independent of the GC-compound of the DNA sequenced. Essential shortage of the device is significant amount of false data at homopolymer sites and InDel spotting faults.

De novo small genomes sequencing, metagenomic sequencing, mutations identification, PRC-products sequencing.
